The Housing Crisis remains on top of the political agenda and yet our government are not making the hard choices that will fix it. Whether you’re homeless, a student, a full-time renter or a homeowner, housing is affecting so many people in so many ways and we need an urgent response.
We need to accept that the private sector isn’t working for affordable housing on normal wages and that we need a government-led building response. This isn’t radical. Many European countries do this and it’s similar to Ireland in the mid-1900s when we built areas like the Claddagh, Shantalla and Mervue in Galway.
